The Principle Foundation offers financial assistance to individual Christian Scientists living in the United States. The Principle Foundation may help anyone who is sincere in their expectation of healing through the practice of Christian Science. Church membership, Christian Science class instruction and working with a Christian Science practitioner are not requirements, but they tell us something about the individual’s sincerity.

All financial assistance is given in the form of grants. The Foundation does not make loans. The request process is simple and flexible. Within 24 hours of the initial call for help, or sooner if the call is made during regular business hours, a return call is made. A decision about offering assistance is usually reached within a few hours of the follow up conversation. The assistance offered is meant to be a one-time gift. Short-term arrangements are possible as long as the assistance continues to promote healing.

** With the exception of the class fee itself

In considering requests, the following questions are evaluated:

Does the individual expect healing?
Are they working with a Christian Science practitioner?
What kind of assistance would best promote healing?
Are there other resources of support available to the individual?
Are there steps the individual can take to improve their financial independence?
How much of the request can the individual pay?
Grant availability depends upon many factors. Compliance with the Foundation's grant process does not guarantee that financial assistance will be given.
