The Principle Foundation puts a local face on its national network of care through Local Committees. Local committees are comprised of loving volunteers who have expressed a desire to help Christian Scientists in their community.

Each Committee operates in much the same way as the National Office in Kansas City by receiving calls for financial assistance and prayerfully discerning the most appropriate action to take. The relationship between the Local Committees and the National Office is designed to maintain consistency throughout the Foundation’s activities. To learn more about the workings of Local Committees or how you can start one click on The Principle Foundation Handbook file below or call the Kansas City office at 800-826-7756.

For a list of the Local Committees and their coverage areas, please see the map (below). To contact a local committee for assistance, please call 800-873-2843.

Whether or not there is a Local Committee in your area, there are caring individuals in every community. These people can be found selflessly tending to fellow church members in need at all hours of the day or night. They may prepare a meal, offer a ride to a church service, or simply provide a little companionship. The Principle Foundation offers an opportunity for individuals to support this inspired work by becoming a Representative of the Foundation. Representatives become a part of a nationwide network of benevolence. Call the national office at 800-826-7756 for more information about how to become a Representative.

Local Committee activity is governed by the Local Committee Handbook. An Adobe Acrobat version of the Handbook is available for download or viewing online. Keep in mind, if you print this document it will take 48 double-sided pages.
